What causes landslides amid Southern California's Easter weekend storm?

This weekend’s storm is once again raising landslide concerns in many parts of Southern California. NBC Los Angeles meteorologist David Biggar says when we start to get heavy rainfall, areas with steep slopes should be looking out for debris flows. When the rain water gushes down the slope, it’ll grab onto anything, including dirt, mud, sticks and rocks, and flow down onto our roadways.
