After Syrian rebels seized control of Damascus over the weekend, toppling the 50-year-spanning regime of President Bashar al-Assad, what the future of the Middle Eastern country looks like is on the minds of many. Though the end of Assad’s rule was a major blow to Iran and its proxies, Syrians – for the most part – are optimistic about what’s to come.
