Arab and Muslim leaders gathered in Riyadh for the Arab League and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation summit on Monday (Nov 11), where Saudi Arabia's de facto ruler called for immediate ceasefires in Gaza and Lebanon. Calls for a Palestinian state were also renewed. While many of these summits are symbolic in nature, Monday’s underscores the challenges Israel has with further normalisation within the region, says Ryan Bohl, senior Middle East and North Africa analyst at risk intelligence organisation RANE. He tells CNA’s Asia First why Saudi-Israeli mobilisation “seems to be on life support”.
