What we know about Luigi Mangione, the suspected UnitedHealthcare CEO killer
Luigi Mangione, a suspect in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, was arrested on Monday, Dec. 9 at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He was reportedly recognized by a customer and employee from surveillance images released by NYC police. Authorities say 26-year-old Mangione carried a gun matching the one used in Thompson’s December 4 murder, a fake ID linked to the crime, and a handwritten manifesto expressing anger toward corporate America, reportedly confessing to the killing. A University of Pennsylvania graduate from a prominent Maryland family, Mangione also had a passport, $10,000 in cash, and other evidence tying him to the crime. He awaits extradition to New York to face the murder charge.
