Speaking at a ceremony in a supermarket in Beijing, Salvador Moncada, ambassador of Honduras to China, expressed his excitement over the milestone. China and Honduras established diplomatic ties in March 2023 and reached a substantive agreement on an early harvest arrangement for the free trade agreement between the two countries that came into effect on September 1, 2024.
