Why Bangladesh PM Hasina’s exit is fuelling attacks on Hindus and religious minorities

Multiple attacks have been reported against Bangladesh’s minority Hindus since former Prime Minister Sheik Hasina resigned and fled the country on Aug 5. A primary school teacher was killed in the chaos and at least 45 others injured. Interim leader Muhammad Yunus has urged protestors to protect all and condemned the attacks as heinous. Dr Lutfun Nahar Lata, lecturer in sociology and social policy at the University of Melbourne, gives CNA’s Asia First some insight into the situation.
