Why more Chinese tourists choose to go to the Middle East

About 130 million Chinese tourists are expected to travel abroad this year. While outbound travel recovery is still lagging compared to pre-pandemic levels, those who do travel are heading to an unexpected region – the Middle East. Travel booking websites show a 100 per cent increase in hotel and flight bookings compared to the year before. CNA's Tan Si Hui reports.
