WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has agreed to plead guilty to conspiring to obtain and disclose classified US national defence documents. On Tuesday (Jun 25), WikiLeaks said he had left a British prison to attend a court hearing in Saipan after almost five years of fighting extradition to the United States. He will return to Australia after the hearing. Donald Rothwell, Professor of International Law at the Australian National University, tells CNA’s Asia Now that much will depend on whether Assange will seek to resume his role as leader of WikiLeaks.
