Woman searching for cat may have fallen in a sinkhole

First responders searched a sinkhole for a woman in Pennsylvania who authorities say may have fallen into it while looking for her cat, local media reported. Aerial footage showed rescue crews descending into the sinkhole, near a local restaurant, in search of 64-year-old Elizabeth Pollard. ABC reported that Pennsylvania State Police believe Pollard had gone out with her young granddaughter to look for her cat, Pepper. Police discovered her car parked near the sinkhole and her granddaughter safe inside the vehicle. The area was previously home to coal mining, state troopers told reporters, according to ABC, which could account for the sinkhole opening up at that location. - Report from Reuters
