Yazidi teen says she escaped ISIS in Iraq, only to be sexually assaulted in Winnipeg

The Yazidi genocide saw thousands of people flee ISIS in northern Iraq, and resettle in places around the world including in Canada. One family who relocated to Winnipeg in 2017 thought their new home would offer peace and safety, but that changed after their daughter was allegedly sexually assaulted by a well-known Yazidi leader. The young refugee shared her frustrations and fears about Canada's justice system with Global's Melissa Ridgen.
