There was a lot of uproar over the death of a youth during the idol immersion procession in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. About five thousand people staged a sit-in protest in Tehsil Mahsi with the dead body on a cot. The people who reached the protest also had sticks in their hands. In such a situation, there was a lot of arson. Apart from 4-5 houses, showrooms, hospitals and many vehicles were set on fire. However, on the assurance of MLA Sureshwar Singh, the family members of the deceased, who were protesting at the Mahsi Tehsil gate, agreed to perform the last rites.
