Youth worker identified as victim of fatal Toronto shooting

The victim of a shooting in Toronto’s east end on Sunday has been identified as a young mother and an advocate for children and youth in foster care. Alisha Brooks, 34, was found suffering from gunshot wounds outside a halfway house on Danforth and Jones avenues just before 7 p.m. on Sunday. She was taken to a trauma centre where she later died.
