Zelenskyy wants to license US air defence and missile production in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed licensing U.S. air defence production in Ukraine on Thursday during a visit to a U.S. air base in Ramstein, Germany. "We've had talks with the U.S. about licencing the production of air defence systems and missiles here in Ukraine and this could become a significant part of our security guarantees and it's absolutely doable. But we must keep in mind that the last NATO summit promises haven't been fulfilled yet...We need air defence systems, you gave us already," Zelenskyy said. Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced an additional $500M package for Ukraine. “We must not let up and that's why I'm announcing today another presidential drawdown authority package valued at $500 million. It includes additional missiles for Ukrainian air defence, more ammunition, more air-to-ground munitions and other equipment to support Ukraine's F-16s," Austin said.
